Login Help

Please enter your User ID and Password on this page to login. You need to login before you can access and update your details on the site.

If you have misplaced or forgotten your password please email register@tnz.govt.nz. [top]

Account Setup Help

Please enter your administration contact details on this page. These details will not appear on the website if they differ from your business details, we only require them so that we can contact you about your site.

We will be verifying shortly after you have registered that the information provided is accurate. Later on we'll be sending you friendly reminders of when it's time to update your information.

In some cases, your business contact details (the means by which potential visitors should contact you) will be different from your administration contact details. You will be able to enter those details in a separate section.

If you make a mistake, don't worry: you'll be able to fix it up at later stages in the registration process.

Password (required):

Enter your personal password, and retype it in the box below for confirmation. Your personal password will allow only people you choose to edit or add information to your web page. You should pick something that is easy to remember, but difficult for someone else to guess.

If you forget your password, please email register@tnz.govt.nz.

Once you have retyped the password, the system will check that the passwords are the same. You will receive one of the following messages:

  • Password confirmed. (This is your new password.)
  • Passwords were different. Please try again.

Name (required):

Please supply the full name of the person who runs the administration side of your business and who can confirm this registration.

Position:

Describe that person's role in the business.

Email (required):

So that www.newzealand.com users can contact you, we require you to have an email address that is checked on a regular basis (approximately daily).

Phone (required), fax and address:

Please supply your administration contact details, including your postal address. We will be calling the phone number you enter here to confirm your details. [top]

Add Business Help

For the purposes of this registration site, a "business" is a location where tourists can show up and do the activities that you offer, or a service that tourists can visit online. You will have a chance to add one or more business categories once you tell us a bit about this business location. If your business contact details are the same as the account setup details that you have already supplied, click the "please click here" link, to copy these details so that you don't have to retype the same information.

If the information is different, please type your business contact details into the appropriate field.

Business name:

Enter the name of your business.

Region:

You can specify only one region from those listed in the table. Once you have selected the region you think most appropriate, you will be shown a map that outlines the region.

Please note that some regional divisions overlap and some may differ to maps in popular use. It is very important that you select a region you strongly identify your business with, but please check the map to make sure that your locality is in fact included in that region.

You will not be asked to enter this information if you are a booking or information service, or you are based outside of New Zealand. [top]

Verify Business Help

Please check your business details. You can change any of the information that needs amending or you can accept the information and move on to the next step. [top]

Pick Location Help

Click on the map to indicate where the activity is located. If the map is not relevant then please go back and modify the region your business is in. Once you've clicked on the map you will have a chance to move on to the next page. [top]

Select Business Category Help

In this section, we're asking you to define your business by its core focus or focusses, if you offer more than one. In defining your business this way, we are making sure that potential visitors searching the Tourism New Zealand database for a specific nature of business will find you.

Please select from the table the business category that fits your business.

If your business fits with more than one category, you should add them one at a time. Please fully complete the description process for each business category, before adding another. [top]

Describe your Business Category Help

Please describe in your own words how your business fits its category. You can use or adapt a description your business already uses for this.

(Note that your business may have a single focus or multiple focusses, but you should concentrate on the one you have currently selected from the table and tailor your description accordingly.)

Business Category Details:

Describe your offer in 80 -120 words. Visitors will see this description when they look up your individual web page - it should focus on what makes your business unique and special. [top]

Business Category Summary:

Provide a description of the same activity in 750 characters (or 15 to 20 words). This information will appear on the search results page. Visitors will gain an initial impression of your offer from this text.

Keywords:

Please enter a selection of keywords that describe your offer. These keywords are one of the fields the search tool uses.

Example:

Bob's white-water rafting and kayaking operation is based just outside of Taihape on State Highway 1. The following keywords are suggested:

  • Bob's Kayaking, white water rafting, Taihape, Wanganui/Manawatu

Avoid doubling up or including unnecessary words. For example, kayaking is already included in the name of Bob's company, so there is no need to enter it twice. Include qualitative words if they apply. If you run a themed motel, or family-oriented horse treks, this type of information should be included.

You have now described one business category offered by your business. [top]

Content Manager Help

  • Update your administration and business details
  • Edit or delete the categories associated with your business
  • Add a new category
  • Add a new business [top]

  • Indicate how you would like the image cropped. The space allocated on your page is square so please take this into consideration when deciding what you would like displayed.
